K3 in Pelican case #1610

After going to Dayton this year, my wife and I are continuing south to visit her Mom in northwest Alabama. So I decided to bring my K3 this year instead of the K2. And all things being equal, the K3 would not fit in the same Pelican case I bought last year, so I decided to buy a new one for the K3. I purchased Pelican case #1610. It measures about 21.5" x 16.5" x 10.5" on the inside which provided more than enough room to house the K3 and give me plenty of left-over for other accesories. It also has a pull up extension handle and wheels to make carting it around a little easier.

I purchase the case from Boss Safety Products for $172.65 with the lid organizer for $30.79. It is not exactly cheap, but I like the Pelican line and know that my stuff is going to be well protected.

Here is the case opened up with a view of the lid organizer with various connectors, headphones and a clipboard with paper in the pouch. The top layer has cutouts for a few of the bigger tools I wanted to carry.

Pulling the first layer of foam out reveals the K3 on the left with my Gamma Reseach Power Supply at the top, the Hex Key underneath that and then my DL1, BL2 and W1 in my enclosures in the middle. In the lower right corner is a windup, chargable LED lantern with a DMM and test leads underneath that.

I mounted the K3 upside down in the foam. The knobs rest of a shelf of foam underneath and it also allows me to remove the K3 with the bail, pulling it straight up.
